World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEEAD)
World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEEAD) in Manitoba is Saturday June 15th, and Cambrian Credit Union branches will be bringing awareness to this important issue.

Elder abuse can take many forms:

1. Discriminating against someone because of their age (ageism).
2. Neglecting the needs of older adults who cannot manage on their own.
3. Using power or influence to take advantage of, or to control the older adult.
4. Physical, sexual or psychological abuse.
5. Financial abuse by pressuring someone to give them money, or to assign power of attorney to them.

As a financial services provider, we feel it is important to bring awareness and education about Elder Abuse. On June 15th, our branches will feature brochures, posters and giveaways in support of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
